Accounting Clerk

The Corporate office has an immediate opportunity available for an entry level Accounting Clerk.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by performing various Payroll, Accounts Payable, and other Accounting functions. Provide related supporting information to others.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY MAY INCLUDE:

1. Various payroll responsibilities:
•Hourly payroll processing
•Semi-monthly payroll processing
•Bonus check processing
•Manual payroll check processing
•Calculate payroll deposits
•Payroll voids and stop-pays
•Garnishments
•W-2 processing
•Payroll allocations
•Supplemental reporting
•External reporting

2.Various accounts payable responsibilities:
•Process vendor payments
•Special and manual accounts payable processing
•Assist vendors and branches with accounts payable inquiries
•Entering accounts payable invoices
•Accounts Payable voids and stop-pays
•Distribution of vendor checks
•Verification of accounts payable reports and making necessary correcting adjustments
•Supplemental reporting



3. General accounting responsibilities:
•Account analysis
•Supplemental reporting
•Personal Property tax declarations and payment processing
•Provide support for interim and year-end audits as requested
•Calculate and maintain Auto Benefits taxation amounts for employees
•Maintain electronic Auto Mileage recording system
•Provide information to Management and other departments
•Work with Treasury and Tax departments to assess and correct problems

4. Other duties and responsibilities:
•Research airline travel availability for Financial Services and reserve when needed
•Daily administrative duties
•Special projects as requested


QUALIFICATIONS:

•High School diploma or equivalent
•College courses in accounting preferred
•1-3 years related experience
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
•Knowledge of garnishment regulations preferred
•Strong organizational skills
•Detail oriented
